EXCUSE ME IF I INTRODUCE YOU LIKE I DON’T KNOW YOU
Miguel Barreto & La Pequeña Victoria Cen
Identity in a language of circus and dance.
The work tells us about the other, about us, about the self. It poses a dialogue with the audience that generates reflections on identity, the relationship with others and what surrounds us. It uses circus and dance to generate an intimate proposal that connects, from the universal to the personal, with the emotions of each spectator.
Two bodies play at finding each other, discovering how they look from the outside, how their reflection describes them. When they come together, they build a particular body structure by dancing on top of each other, playing with symmetry, duplicity and ambiguity to compose surprising images, acrobatic dialogues and dreamlike scenes.
Excuse me if I introduce you as if I don’t know you justifies the fact that you know me without knowing me.
